Welcome to the demo / test for Metroidvania Month 20 Gamejam! 

A Metroid Game where you explore through a handful of unique units! Command your tribe of super cute chickens to infiltrate the new land and establish a strong foundation for your chicks!

My Goal for the GameJam

I wanted to play around with the idea of exploring, unlocking, and puzzling in a persistent world, but without being able to control the hero... more specifically I wanted to be able to play a metroid vania through various units with different strengths. 

I chose the theme of "Infiltration" for Metroidvania Month 20 2023. The art doesn't have a specific reason for its theming. @LuuiArts just whipped up some super cute art for my early ugly prototype and that was decided to be the theme from that point on. 

There is a hidden "hack menu" that can be used by pressing "ENTER" / "RETURN" on the keyboard. then type "/help" to see the possible commands.

Known Issues

 Programming

- Tooltip does displays improperly: offscreen, overlapping, far offset

- The game doesn't display the WIN message when you build the last / 4th camp (oops 😅)

Visuals

- Sometimes objects disappear or appear behind/ in front of each other\

- when placing a "camp site" the explorer shows a Researcher hat, instead of explorer

Design / User Experience

- Add a "close" / X button for the Upgrade window (currently have to toggle button)

- UnitSpawning Tutorial is missing or misplaced
